The funding, from Rural Aberdeenshire LEADER, of more than £87,000 has been matched by other funding from Aberdeenshire Council and Scottish Enterprise. Businesses in Aboyne would be expected to pay around 50% of the cost themselves in improving their shop frontage. For Businesses the project is on-going until August 2013.

The closing date for businesses to sign up for the project was September 2012.

The project will bring together public and private sector partners in a way that has not been tried before in rural Scotland and will see over £230,000 being invested to make Aboyne even more attractive for residents and visitors.
