Huntly Arms Update

An update from our Huntly Arms Regeneration Project...

On behalf of Mid-Deeside Community Trust, RTS Forestry, are in the process of renewing the Long-Term Forest Plan for Bell Wood and Lady Wood, Aboyne. Prior to preparing the plan we would like to invite you to address any queries you may have as the local community. Through this consultation we hope all the important factors affecting the management of the woods can be brought to our attention and can be incorporated in the plans where relevant.

Details of the initial proposals for the plan are shown below in the Scoping Maps. A guide to the scoping map is also below with definitions of the terminology used. We would be grateful if you could give these documents your attention and respond to This email address is being protected from spambots. Aboyne Green Spaces Coffee Morning

Our Aboyne Green Spaces Group held a very successful coffee morning in the Bowling Club pavilion on Saturday 21 September. In addition to tea, coffee and some very tasty home baking, there were plants for sale and a raffle. We managed to raise over £500 which will go towards buying more planters and flowers to go in them. Thanks to all who came along to support us. We are hoping to have a number of new planters in place by next summer.

The Aboyne Green Spaces AGM will be held in the Boat Inn on Monday 14 October at 8.30. If you're interested in helping us to make Aboyne bloom, please come along.

Aboyne Green Spaces Group

Aboyne Green Spaces Group was established in 2022 with the aim of promoting  the acquisition, creation, installation and management of garden areas (including community gardens), green spaces, flower beds, shrub beds and planters within Aboyne and its immediate surroundings in order to enhance the appearance and attraction of Aboyne, encourage civic pride and further the health, well-being and enjoyment of the local people and visitors.

The Group looks after all the planters in the upper and lower squares in Aboyne together with the hanging baskets and some of the Christmas lights in the lower square. The Group has also been involved in planting trees in the Ladywood and planting trees and bulbs along parts of Ballater Road..

The Group is hoping to expand its activities and new volunteers are always welcome. You will find us in Station Square around 5.00pm in the summer and 4.00pm in the winter.
