The Artist in Residence project aims to respond to the wellbeing needs of Upper Deeside and Donside communities in a post-lockdown environment by facilitating engagement with practical and creative activities with the aim of incorporating Creativity, Mindfulness and Wellbeing in everyday life.
The project will deliver high quality person-centered and cognition-stimulating creative activities whilst supporting and encouraging positive social interactions and personal wellbeing. It will offer adults a safe and nourishing ‘slow space’ to shape ideas, engage with the Arts, themselves, and the wider community. It aims to demystifies the artmaking process, thus making it more accessible to users. It allows for a much needed headspace with scheduled classes and workshops.

We have since run Heart Start courses in the following communities:
Projects cover vital first aid enhancements through the installation of defibrillators in key locations and the provision of free Heart Start training. We have also contributed to projects that encourage local people of all ages to get active and take advantage of our beautiful outdoor environment such as the refurbishment of the playpark on Aboyne Green and the construction of the bike park in the Bell Wood.
