Mid Deeside Dial-a-Bus

The Mid Deeside Dial-a-Bus has taken over from the much loved Village Hopper Service which now operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays linking the villages of Aboyne, Logie Coldstone, Tarland, Lumphanan, Finzean, Strachan and Kincardine O’Neil with the social and commercial centres in Aboyne and Banchory.

The service operates free of charge, we do not need to see your concession cards.

There are restrictions so please call the office to check that you are eligible.

Initially you will have to register to use the service. You can register and book using the following numbers:

We will need your name, address, telephone number, which day you would like to travel, what time and where you wish to be picked up and your destination. We can drop off anywhere on the route e.g. supermarkets, doctors or hairdressers upon request. You can book single or return journeys as well as journeys on different days. You can book on behalf of friends if you usually travel at the same time. You will be given an estimated pick-up time for each journey. We will take bookings up to 7 days in advance. We can also take same days bookings subject to availability. Door to door pickups may be possible, please ask when you phone to book.

If you use the service at the same time and same day each week, we may be able to set up a regular booking so you don’t have to phone and book that journey. If you have a regular booking but you can’t travel one day, please phone us in advance to cancel within 24hrs if possible.

If a normal service cannot operate due to bad weather, or for any other reason, we will try to contact all passengers who have booked to inform them of the situation.
